The iconic Arts Centre Gold Coast has rebranded as HOTA - Home of the Arts - a new name for a spectacular new venue featuring a new and incredible outdoor stage! The Arts Centre Gold Coast is well-known as the Gold Coast’s central hub for fantastic live entertainment and culture on the Gold Coast, and now it’s going to be bigger and better as HOTA. After years of planning HOTA is now completed, featuring a stunning new 20-metre-wide amphitheatre that took almost two years to build. Surrounded in lush parklands, this aesthetically-pleasing amphitheatre is expected to be the main location for big concerts and festivals to come on the Gold Coast. To commemorate the brand new outdoor stage and rebranding as HOTA, a FREE concert with British-Australian performer Tim Minchin will take place on March 17! Also on March 24 don’t miss the free Concert for the Planet, where you can join the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra performing Holst’s The Planets in celebration of Earth Hour.

This Autumn don’t miss more exciting events taking place at the HOTA outdoor stage! Catch Dancing on the Green on May 19, a family-friendly dancing event featuring eclectic live music and good vibes on the green. Everything from swing and salsa to ballroom and club beats will be played and performed by DJ or live band for a length of 5-hours, offering a great music mix for all to jig along to! Dancing on the Green is free to attend and will take place on HOTA’s brand new outdoor stage.

Also on May 26, don’t miss The Spirit of Churaki, a spectacular music production inspired by the story of Churaki: an Aboriginal man heralded as the Gold Coast’s first surf lifesaver. Churaki’s story is both inspiring and heroic - and yet still unknown. The Spirit of Churaki aims to honour this heritage with a fantastic lineup of legendary Australian ‘surf rock’ musicians, including Rob Hirst, Jim Moginie, Martin Rotsey (Midnight Oil), Jack Howard (Hunters & Collectors), Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes), and more. Make sure to be there!
